JANUARY WORKSHOPS
APRON MAKING AND INDIGO DYEING
With Francli founder Ali Goodman and designer, maker and natural dyer Sarah Johnson
SATURDAY 25TH JANUARY 2020
In November we enjoyed our first Apron Making and Indigo dyeing workshop; chatting over cloth, good food and the bubbling dye vat with our curious attendees.
They started this full and rewarding day in the Francli studio with Ali, crafting their unique aprons from natural organic cotton canvas. Then after a warming lunch made from Argal Home Farm produce, we wrapped up and head to the agricultural barn to transform them from white to green to deep blue with Sarah.
It was a pleasure to open up the doors of the farm and workshop, introduce inquisitive hands to the quirks of our industrial machines and discuss the origins and myths surrounding natural indigo around the world.
The start of the New Year is one of reflection and intention. It could be going back to neglected creative roots, or trying something completely new. In the spirit of this and typically the ‘bluest month’ of the year, we’re excited to embrace the right kind of blue and run our next sewing and indigo dyeing workshop!
Come sew, eat, drink and dunk with us on Saturday 25th of January!
