Waxed canvas and leather carry goods designed to bed into the back of workshop doors and on greenhouse tables. Built for a life where art, work and the outdoors are inextricable.

Meredith Owen is a painter and head gardener at Argal Home Farm.

Similar to the patience needed to manage an allotment, orchard and farm grounds all year round, her paintings are defined by the time they take. Building layers of detail with fine brushes and oil paint to create evolving landscapes that pay tribute to places she has been.

Meri’s upcoming exhibition of work focuses on walking. Mirroring her absorbed pace on a footpath in the rhythmic marks of her paintwork. Exploring both acts in tandem as a notion of total autonomy and presence. Synchronising thoughts and movement to fully embrace the miraculous intricacies of our natural surroundings.
